Well, the voters cried out loud and clear to all except the President. He seems to think that what he has been saying about getting more jobs and bringing down the unemployment rate is what the voters are saying when they voted in 60-some Republicans to give the House a vast Republican majority.
But the President still doesn't get it. He will cling to his plan to give the United Auto Workers all the tax payers' money he can and whoever else holds out their hand, except the tax payers.

I would like to know when our government became a group of self-interested, power-hungry materialists. It's been this way at least since WWII but even before that, I think. I would like to see some political historian write a book on the progression of our democratic republic from relatively pure, unpaid, elected officials with a focus on serving and the goal of making our country a better place, to today's greed infused representatives. When did they begin to be paid? I'm sure Alexander Hamilton would be aghast at the hugeness of government compared to the population. Whenever greed takes hold a democracy surely will fall.
On the many “forwards” that come my way…
A “Bill Cosby in 2012” list of socio-economic changes:
Who puts these things together anyway? I don't believe for one minute that Bill Cosby said or wrote these things unless they were in the context of a monologue, and then, it would have been funnier.
But Bill Cosby is not heard or seen in the media or supporting any politicians and I'm sure anyone running for political office who would espouse these ideas would not make it through the primary. Of course, Bill is a comedian and all of these statements are good for a laugh. Seriously, these ideas are like saying, "Let's hold the water from the bursting dam back with our hands."
Meanwhile, we are stuck with the problem and, if people are really upset about the way the Obama regime is handling things then the vote in November should show it. That is our democratic way.

Review
Here I am one year older and not necessarily wiser. Since my previous posting was over a year ago, I have had to re-register and, again, I'm not sure why I did. I really should be outside walking on this beautiful November afternoon in the Coachella Valley... blue sky, 65 degrees, mountains all around.
Our grapefruit are nearing their time for harvesting - one at a time. They are so sweet and juicy and they have very few seeds. We enjoy them for breakfast from mid-December to mid-May. What a treat to have fresh fruit off one's own backyard tree! Hopefully, the lemon tree will produce this coming year.
Next week begins the holiday season and, for us, it means getting the Christmas card together and heading out early to Costco on Black Friday to pick up yet another Costco cookbook. (Like, I really need another cookbook or recipe.)
Time's a-wasting. I need to get my walking shoes on...
